Introduction

Based in Vancouver, Canada, Carolyn B. She has authored several guidebooks and contributed to dozens of other travel titles.

Carolyn is the author of several guidebooks for the Moon Travel Guides, most recently Moon Vancouver & Canadian Rockies Road Trip, a guide to road-tripping across Western Canada. She is a co-author of Lonely Planet’s Atlantic Canada and Boston guides, and she has contributed to numerous other Lonely Planet titles, including Canada, Experience Canada, Experience New England, Art Destinations, Parenthood Around the World, The Joy of Gardens, Electric Vehicle Road Trips: US and Canada, and Epic Snow Adventures, among many others.

Education

Carolyn has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University. She’s an avid language student, who has studied Spanish in Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Colombia. She speaks decent Spanish and French and enough basic Mandarin Chinese to order dumplings and possibly by a train ticket. She’s also taken cooking lessons in many countries, including Vietnam, Guatemala, Grenada, Japan, Chile, South Africa, and Indonesia.

Awards

A member of SATW (Society of American Travel Writers) and the Travel Media Association of Canada, Carolyn has received numerous awards from both organizations for her food and drink stories, service pieces, and features highlighting the contributions that Canadians of Asian descent have made to Canada.
