Introduction
Kate Mann is a journalist from the UK. She has been based in Munich since 2016 and Germany for longer, with stints in Köln and Berlin. She also spent two years working at the Slow Food headquarters in Piedmont. Her work mainly focuses on Germany, Austria and the Alps, and provides insights into food, culture and travel for British and international publications.
Experience
Kate began writing about Germany upon moving to Munich. She started with a blog, Munich Bites, which focuses on chefs and artisanal producers in Bavaria, before branching out into freelance journalism. Over the past decade, she has written for The Guardian, The Times, The Telegraph, Conde Nast Traveller, BBC Travel, Lonely Planet, National Geographic Traveller, Eater and more.

Education
Kate has a BA in Geography, First-Class Honours, from the University of Exeter and an MSc. in Global Governance and Ethics, with distinction, from University College London.
She is a member of the Guild of Travel Writers and the Guild of Food Writers.
