Kim Foley MacKinnon

Kim Foley MacKinnon is an award-winning Boston-based journalist, author, and photographer. While she travels the world to cover travel and food, she has a deep knowledge and love of New England.

Experience

Getting her start at the Boston Globe newspaper while a student at the University of Massachusetts, Boston gave Kim a solid foundation in the craft of journalism. Covering everything from local news to profiles, she found her love of travel writing after her first travel piece appeared in the newspaper. From there, she went on to become a guidebook editor, author, and travel writer. For the past 25 years, she has contributed to Forbes, Travel + Leisure, AAA, Time Out, Fodor’s, BBC, U.S. News & World Report, Cruise Critic, and Food Network, among others.
