Introduction

Kimberley Lovato is a freelance travel journalist who splits her time between San Francisco, California, and France. Her work focuses on travel, food, destination guides, and meaningful personal experiences that connect travelers more deeply with place. She writes regularly about San Francisco and the French Riviera, combining practical planning insight and observation with narrative storytelling.

Kimberley has more than 20 years of experience writing travel and lifestyle features for major national and international publications. Her work has appeared in National Geographic Traveler, Preferred Travel, Travel + Leisure, The Saturday Evening Post, Virtuoso: The Magazine, Conde Nast Traveler, and numerous other print and digital outlets.

Kimberley is the author of two guidebooks to San Francisco, a cookbook about the people and food of the Dordogne region of France, and, most recently, Pisa Loves Bella: A Towering Tale of Kindness, a travel-themed children’s picture book encouraging curiosity, kindness, and self-acceptance.

She recently created www.OneTripWonder.com, where she publishes destination guides, neighborhood explorations, and travel-planning resources focused on Northern California, the French Riviera, and other places where she finds inspiration in the world.

Awards

Kimberley is the recipient of numerous writing awards, including two Lowell Thomas Awards, presented by the Society of American Travel Writers, and two from the North American Travel Journalists Association. Her personal essays have also been recognized with Solas Awards.

Education

Kimberley holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Southern California.
