Introduction

Mandy Sinclair is a travel writer, consultant and PR specialist, originally from Ontario, Canada. After visiting Morocco in 2009 on a holiday, she decided to return for a five-month stay. The stay turned into several years in Marrakech, writing for international newspapers, magazines and guidebooks, specialising in travel, lifestyle, and arts and launching Why Morocco podcast series. 

Experience

She was the food and drink editor and writer on the Monocle Travel Guide to Marrakech, Tangier and Casablanca. In 2023 she researched and wrote the North Atlantic Coast chapter for the Lonely Planet Morocco guidebook and returned to her roots to write the Toronto, Niagara and southwestern Ontario chapter for the Lonely Planet Canada guidebook. Most recently, she has contributed to Monocle Radio’s The Urbanist and The Menu, and the Toronto Star.

Education

Mandy has a BA in Mass Communication and French from Carleton University and a diploma in Public Relations from Algonquin College.

She is currently pursuing a certificate in creative writing from the University of Toronto. 

Awards

Mandy, alongside colleagues, has been awarded the Innovation Award from Festivals and Events Ontario for launching a dedicated train experience to Oktoberfest celebrations in Ontario, Canada.
