Introduction
Mark C O’Flaherty is an author, design journalist and photographer. For most of the last decade he has split his time between New York and London, where he grew up. He works regularly on design stories in France, Italy and Japan, and writes regularly about architecture and hotels. He also presents and participates in panel events in galleries and cultural spaces in London and New York including the National Gallery and Sarabande.
Experience
Mark started his career as a DJ and a show producer at London Fashion Week before moving into music photography. He then split his focus between writing and photography, moving more into travel, profiles and interiors.
He has been writing and shooting for the Financial Times for more than 25 years and is a regular contributor to FT Weekend, HTSI, the New York Times, the Telegraph, the Sunday Times, House & Garden, Corriere della Sera, 10 Magazine, AD Middle East, Business Traveler, Elite Traveler and Harrods Magazine. He has a monthly hotel review column in the Telegraph.
As a photographer he has worked for Issey Miyake, Hermès, Knoll, Nobu, Diane von Furstenberg, Established & Sons, Richard James and Jeremy King Restaurants. He is also the founder and editor of CivilianGlobal.com.

Education
Mark studied Film, Video and Photo Arts at the School of Communication (University of Westminster, formerly PCL) in London.
