Park City

Discover the historic charm and vibrant outdoor experiences that define summer in Utah’s most storied mountain town

Park City boasts a thriving arts scene and endless outdoor pursuits all year round. This three-day itinerary showcases Park City’s sunny side, where classic attractions meet high-altitude adventure and dazzling culinary destinations. Main Street is the heart of the action, while the alpine resort at Canyons Village offers its own vibrant, wonderful energy.

Day 1: Main Street Must-Sees

Morning:

It’s an enjoyable leisurely stroll around the art galleries and boutiques on Main Street to ease into the town’s easygoing summer rhythm. Start at the Meyer Gallery and walk downhill toward the Egyptian Theatre, Main Street’s most iconic building. Peruse Western wear at Burns Cowboy Shop, a 150-year-old family-owned business that outfitted hats and buckles for TV series Yellowstone and can make bespoke cowboy hats while you wait. Indulge in a scoop at Java Cow Coffee & Ice Cream, filled with kitsch souvenirs, then stop by the Park City Museum to learn about the town’s mining and skiing history.

Afternoon:

At Harvest Park City, locally sourced ingredients shape a menu of bright, seasonal flavors. Spend a more leisurely afternoon at Alpine Distilling for The Gin Experience, where Master Distiller and Co-Founder Sara Sergent guides guests through the craft of botanical spirits before sending them home with a custom bottle of gin.

Evening:

Café Terigo is the place for an intimate dinner at the family-owned Italian eatery that has been a fixture in the Park City culinary scene for decades. Cap the night at The Spur Bar & Grill for locally crafted cocktails, jubilant crowds, and live music.

Day 2: Summit Sights and Saloon Nights

Morning:

Start your visit by diving into the area’s enduring sports legacy at Utah Olympic Park, exploring the engaging Alf Engen Ski Museum and the Eccles Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum. If you’re brave enough, jump aboard the Summer Bobsled Experience and ride alongside a professional pilot on the same track used for the luge, bobsled, and skeleton events at the Olympics. Watch out for the Flying Ace All-Stars, who perform every weekend through summer, with Olympians launching skyward in gravity-defying aerial acrobatics before splashing down into the pool below. You can delight your inner kid later with a whirl on the zip-line, ropes course, extreme tubing track, and airbag jumps.

Afternoon:

Raise a glass and enjoy a whiskey tasting at High West Distillery, Utah’s first legal distillery since Prohibition. Pair rye and bourbon whiskeys with bubbling fondue or house-made charcuterie. From the scenic Town Lift at lower Main Street to the base village at Park City Mountain, take in panoramic mountain views. Play a round of mini golf, ride the Alpine Slide or Mountain Coaster, and enjoy the fresh mountain air as you shop for souvenirs at the village markets.

Evening:

Dine at Courchevel Bistro, where authentic French fare is served in a cozy Main Street setting. The bistro pays homage to Park City’s sister-city relationship with Courchevel, France, through an Alpine-inspired menu. End the night with people watching, shuffleboard, and mountain views on the rooftop at No Name Saloon & Grill, one of Park City’s most popular late-night spots.

Day 3: Adventure at Altitude

The iconic McPolin Barn.

Morning:

The paved path of the McLeod Creek Trail meanders past Alpine scenery, sprawling pastures, wooden bridges, boardwalks, and the occasional neighborhood moose. Rent a bike or e-bike to follow the 6-mile route.

Afternoon:

Hearth and Hill in the Newpark neighborhood in Kimball Junction, where international fare is prepared with farm-to-table ingredients, is the perfect stop for lunch. This dynamic district blends casual cafés, gathering spaces, and trail access at the Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter. On your way back, take the Farm Trail for close-up views of the idyllic McPolin Barn, one of Park City’s most photographed landmarks. Unwind at Main Street’s Aura Spa with a hot stone massage or a restorative microalgae body wrap.

Evening:

Known for its elevated comfort dishes, Tupelo Park City channels the aesthetic of a Southern manor library. Regulars adore its warm ambiance and thoughtfully prepared food. As your evening draws to a close, Park City is a wonderful place to enjoy the pristine night sky – step outside and look up to see the abundance of stars.
