Introduction

Ann Shields is a New York City-based writer and editor. She lives in the East Village with her family and writes about travel, design, architecture, art, history, and culture.

Experience

With more than 30 years of editorial experience working on books, magazines, and websites, Ann has also contributed to Afar, Dwell, Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, the History Channel, Atlas Obscura, and Town & Country, among other outlets.

For the past six years, Ann has volunteered and served on the board of directors at EVLovesNYC, a mutual aid that makes and distributes meals to food-insecure New Yorkers in all five boroughs. Since its founding in 2020, the volunteer-powered EVLovesNYC has cooked more than 780,000 meals and distributed nine million pounds of groceries to neighbors in need.

Education

Ann has a BA in Literature and Theater from the University of Virginia.
