Introduction

Hillary Richard is an award-winning journalist, photographer, and professional adventurer. She grew up near New York City before moving to Boston for college. She spent time living in and working for magazines in Sydney, Australia and Galway, Ireland before returning to the New York metro area. She has reported from all seven continents. 

Selected publications

Hillary has written features for National Geographic, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Travel + Leisure, Vogue, The Boston Globe, Virtuoso, Robb Report, Luxury Magazine, BBC Travel, AAA Explorer and regional AAA magazines, and many other consumer and trade publications. Her photography has appeared in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Robb Report, BBC Travel, Time Magazine, and AAA. 

Education 

Hillary has a BS in journalism and history from Boston University. During the pandemic, she began a Master’s degree at Harvard virtually. Earlier in her career, she completed a sustainability reporting fellowship with the Thomson Reuters Foundation and the United Nations in New York. Hillary has won two awards from the North American Travel Journalist Association for articles in National Geographic and Vogue.
