Introduction

John Brunton is a journalist, author and photographer, originally from London. After spending five years in Malaysia, he is now based in Paris and Venice, travelling widely to produce articles for international newspapers and magazines, specialising in wine, food, travel and culture.

Experience

Originally a photographer in Malaysia, specialising in adventure travel, John became a Paris-based correspondent, moved to Venice and started writing, specialising in food and wine journalism.

John has 30 years of experience, contributing to The Guardian, The Observer, The Times, Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, Financial Times, Elle magazine, Conde Nast Traveller, South China Morning Post and International Herald Tribune.

John has a BA in Modern History from Bristol University, and an MA in American Studies from London School of Economics.

He is a member of international wine juries - Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Vinitaly International Wine Competition, Beaujolais Nouveau Trophy, Challenge Millesime Bio, Autochtona indigenous grapes.

He is also a member of Slowfood Jury, Frankfurt International Cheese and Charcuterie Trophy, Chevalier de Tastevin Sancerre and Nobile del Ducato dei Vini Friulani.

Awards

John has been awarded Pluma di Plata (Mexico) for travel writing and the Premio Collio (Italy) for wine writing.
